The preparations for the 10th professional competition of the AIE are in full swing. The ZVEH is pleased to be able to announce that 12 AIE members have accepted the invitation and will send candidates to Frankfurt; they are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France (FFIE), Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. England will be represented as an observer.

This is by far the greatest number of participants in this competition, which started in 1992, and a special reverence to the location at the light+building exhibition as well as this year?s competition subject KNX. As from the end of February, participants can refer to the CYE homepage http://www.cye2008.com to find first detailed advice regarding the practical part of the competition task; apart from a rough description of the task there are the relevant material and tool lists in all three competition languages, i.e. German, English and French.
Apart from the KNX Association, there are 28 well-known companies who support this competition, which could not have been arranged by the ZVEH without the generous commitment in terms of financial support and materials by these sponsors. Just the material required for the competition task, which has been sponsored in full, represents a gross value of about Euro 180,000.--.
Such a commitment is by no means a matter of course and once again underlines the readiness and will of the industry and the trade to master the technological and educational challenges of the increasingly unified electrical engineering of Europe together. The future of electrical engineering will expand increasingly into networked building automation on the basis of the worldwide acknowledged bus standard KNX.
Technology straddles boundaries - the AIE professional competition again illustrates this in convincing fashion: for 3 days, 12 young electricians from all parts of Europe will demonstrate their skills in working with this demanding but trend-setting technology. In spite of the existing differences in professional training, they will thereby also make a statement in favour of effective climate protection and careful use of the electrical energy resource - both objectives in the professional training of our young electricians that straddle the boundaries between the countries in Europe.
Here you will find the names and details of the participants in the competition and the experts taking care of them.
